Throughout the design process multiple revisions are used to reach a final production design. An appearance model is the last step before submitting a project to manufacturing. These nonfunctioning full scale mockups are used to ensure the product is ergonomically and aesthetically ready for production.

Both the Nailgun and Door Handle projects shown here are hand carved from a high density Modulan foam then sanded and finish painted to represent the actual production item.
